Intervener
An intervener facilitates access to information for an individual who is deafblind. Similar to a sign language interpreter for the deaf, but with an additional level of one-on-one support, interveners use a variety of modes including visual or tactile sign language, or through an oral/aural approach.

Medicaid Waiver Program
Federal funds for Medicaid Waiver Programs are administered by the state for specific groups of individuals with special needs.
DBMD Waiver
Established to address the specific needs of those who are deaf and blind after the rubella epidemic of 1960s. Key to this waiver is inclusion of Intervener services.
